Front Squats


Main reasons we like the front squat ⁣ 1. Improved posture in the squatting pattern - placing the bar across the front of your shoulders encourages an upright torso as you squat down (the bar will fall forward if you don’t). ⁣ 2. Less loading on the spine - with the bar in front of you (as opposed to the popular back squat) we immediately reduce compressive force on the spine. With the upright torso position we also create less shear force on the lumbar spine. ⁣ ⁣ 3. Trains the midline - throwing a heavy barbell across your collar bones, squatting deep and standing up and will teach you much of what you need to know about your ‘core stability’
