RULES OF THE GYM We are going to be doing a series of posts over the next week or so of each of the rules we follow @gymone22
Rule 1: We don’t complain
We think everyone should live by this rule.
What does it achieve? Who are you complaining to when you do so? Complaining has absolutely zero value.
Having a glass half empty attitude is a perfect way to waste your time. The only people that listen to complaints are your parents (because they have to) and other complainers.
But they are all too common. Complaints about time. Complaints about money. Complaints about not being in the shape you want. Look if you’re happy as Larry eating like a pig and being overweight then that’s great, do your thing (I think you’ll have health concerns along the line but that’s another story). But if you eat like an asshole and don’t move enough, you cannot possibly complain about your health or fitness.
The same goes for something like the weather. If you don’t like the climate where you live, you are allowed to move. If you don’t want to move because you have family and friends close by, then stop complaining about the weather.
Complaining is the easy option. It’s easy to whine and whinge about how hard or how unfair something is. It takes zero effort.
Instead, we should be thankful. We should be driven by gratitude. For some, this may not come easily. So many things happen in day to day life that could lead us down the complaint path. The rain, the traffic, the deadlines, the boss or the lost phone reception. We need to think big picture, you’re still a human, you’re still breathing, you are still alive in probably the greatest time to be alive. Is the fact that the internet is down and Netflix isn’t working really that bad?
Behind our doors, we are thankful for the chance we have to move. For the opportunity we have to use our bodies to become stronger, fitter and healthier people. When we are injured, we don’t complain that the worlds ended. We find a solution to become better. When we are sick, we appreciate that there are far more people in far worse situations than us.
Don’t complain. Complaining won’t get you anywhere. #one2
