Gym Rules - #6


RULE 6: If you don’t know, ask (and then listen) ⁣ Here’s a clip of @sam_geurts asking and listening. ⁣ ⁣ We love being asked questions. It shows us an athlete is engaged in what they’re doing and it challenges us to ensure we are giving them the best use of their time. ⁣ ⁣ We get that not every single person wants to learn the ins and outs of what they’re doing. Some simply want to get to the gym for 30-60 minutes, be told what to do and get after it, and that’s totally fine. ⁣ ⁣ But it is our hope that our clients become empowered to take their health & fitness into their own hands. If someone can go on holiday or get a gym membership elsewhere and be confident in setting up their own training sessions in terms of exercise selection, sets and reps or work to rest ratios, we feel like we have done a reasonable job. ⁣ ⁣ We will always do our best to answer any questions that people have about anything to do with health, fitness or performance. We will also humbly recognise when we don’t know the answer to something (be careful of the trainer that has an answer for everything). ⁣ ⁣ One of the things we love about the culture we are developing is the way that the guys that have been with us since the beginning, not only lead the way for the new comers but they will actively help them out in terms of coaching cues and demonstrations. ⁣ ⁣ This behaviour forms a big part of our original vision of the garage gym. ⁣ #one22
