Now this is a message I want to receive!
I’ve been training people in one way or another for about 6-7 years now (longer if you count the bro sessions we were having with the lat pull down machine in the garage 10+ years ago). In that time I’ve heard my share of excuses. Some of them acceptable. Most of them rubbish. Most reflected a poor attitude. Jack is a great example of what commitment & consistency can do to an individual. Mid October I received a call from Jack asking for some help on his journey back to health. Since then, he’s been with me three days a week without fail. He has kept a diary, noting down all the sessions he’s completed, both in the garage with me and in his own time. He sent me this message last week as he was organising his daughters wedding. Not only did he keep track of his sessions but he immediately wanted the extra session to make up for the one he had to miss for the frantic day before the wedding!! Before I even worry about what Jack is doing in the gym, I know he is going to achieve success because of this attitude he has. Too often people are worried about the minute details of what a program entails and yet they are cancelling their sessions. Be like Jack and make up for the sessions that you miss. I’ve added a video from his very next session which shows his first set of bodyweight push ups that he’s been able to complete in 30 years! This was part of a 5 x 3. More details on Jack and his journey back to optimal health to come! #one22
