Everyone should eat a big ass salad every day.
This is the easiest way to get in some plants and vegetables - without much thought.
I like to make it my first meal. I’m not sure what the science says about it, but I think there’s something special to a ‘big ass salad’ being the first thing your body digests for the day. I have no evidence to back it up, but anecdotally, I feel a little bit superhuman every time I do it.
If you’re not consuming your daily dose of fruit and veg then it’s likely that you’re deficient in some sort of micronutrient – probably multiple. How I like to combat this is making one big ass salad with as many colours as I can find in the kitchen.
‘Eat the rainbow’ they say.

As you can see from the first photo, majority of the population are not eating enough of each colour group.

Throw in a bunch of different veggies, chuck in some source of protein, throw some olive oil or something on top, add a little sea salt and black pepper and you’ve got yourself a tasty dish.
I don’t like the excuse “salads just don’t fill me up” or “salads just aren’t satisfying.” If you actually make your big ass salad – a BIG ASS salad – you will be full afterwards. And if you load up with some sort of protein (chicken, fish, ham, beans etc) you will be satisfied.
The benefit of eating plants and veggies is that they’re nutrient dense. Meaning you get a shit load of nutrients in while keeping calories low. Great for people that LOVE to eat – like us.
