Gym Standards

We believe in general physical preparedness – being competent across a range of physical attributes. It’s great to be strong, but if you are out of breath walking up two flights of stairs then you are lacking well rounded fitness.

Here are 10 standards, across a range of physical capacities, that we believe encompass a reasonable level of general fitness for the average gym goer (of which we consider ourselves). On their own, none of these qualities are overly impressive however if all 10 standards are met, you can presume you are in reasonable shape.
